Multiple viewpoints are given in this story.Now, I have to talk about King.His whole profile made this book for me. Not only is he hardcore and thug in many ways- he encourages Kennedy to continue school, offers to pay tuition, listens when she speaks, caters to her and on and on…such a good fella, but still King is King.I mention quite a bit in my blog reviews that I absolutely loathe multiple viewpoints and Urban Fiction has plenty of them! However, for many books it works. Especially in this. You get to see a situation(several) unfold while the main characters don’t know what is going on. This makes for very juicy, dramatic surprises.I like the style of writing in this one and I definitely will be reading more of her books!Highly recommend!
Story was good but again with the abrupt ending and continuing book for book stories it's just getting too annoying. Just when this book starts getting really good we get the to be continued... I just really want a good book to be a good book with out having to wait for the rest. This is not this authors fault but the continuation just as the story got really good is just plain annoying. Sorry for the ranting.Good story. I'm just really hoping I don't forget it because I would like to know what happens next.
Sometime being with someone older is a good thing. We have King who finds his queen who is younger but have her head on & knows what she wants. She also knows that King loves her & will do all he can to protect her. Kennedy is hated by one which is Siren all because she has the man she wants. Sometimes when u make yourself available when ever &/however u get looked over as being a future for someone m It never hurts to say no or play hard to get. Also make sure when u out to get someone for yourself make sure they feel the same way. It's a lot when the crew been together all these years now there are issues everywhere. How will it all end? How do you overcome being a snitch & a jealous one at that.? Will there be a happy ending for Kennedy & King or will more pain come. Book is full with twists & turns that will have you like what or my. Good book.
I chose this rating because of all the action, excitement and entertainment from the men/friends and their girlfriend's. I can't believe that all this time S. Was this jelly. I can't wait for everyone to find out the truth about her. Why wouldn't king tell his wife about S, I don't get it. I can't wait for King to find out THAT he has a six year old son, I wouldn't be mad if Kennedy left him for a minute. I think that would be KARMA. King deserves it. I don't think that S is dead, I believe that good ole Det. Sanchez waited around and came back and saved S , and took her to the doctor and/put her in protective as a stitch. I hated that S caused so much pain. The lies she told will break up the best friends/team. But I hope the men stay best friends even after everything is over. I hope S is dead because if not she will cause more problems than she have already. But I hope Kenn leave King even if it's for a while and take his daughter also. Can't wait to read the next chapter.
In all honesty, Urban Fiction is a genre that speaks to my soul. It speaks to the deepest parts of me yet shatters my heart with each and every single word as I move through the many stories. A Thug’s Love was a great story with characters I instantly fell in love with. The story and writing was so good that I quickly purchased the second book. I commend the writer for writing such an emotional and thought invoking story, and for keeping me thoroughly entertained every step of the way.
I’ve tossed and tossed but I finally read this book, I must say I was feeling Dejavu feeling like I’ve read this book already but unfortunately I can’t remember. So far the story is kool the leading lady is annoying as hell let’s see if I can find something I like about her in book 2Happy reading
I love everything by Ms. Watkins, this book was no exception!!! Once I started reading I couldn't stop reading. I absolutely love all of the characters!! I love the writing style, it flows perfectly from beginning to end. I loved all the drama. I loved all the romance. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, if you're looking for a great book to read purchase this book by Ms. Watkins. Also, go purchase any other books she has written you won't be disappointed.
I had written a review and it was not published because I use the word "Damn". This whole series is too slow as I mentioned at the beginning, and to make matter worse Part 3 is listed at $9.99. I don't think this series is worth it. But, I guess that I will have to eventually purchase part 3 if I want to fine out what happens hopefully the end.
